Limerick

It tumbles through the hoop,
no celebration, time to regroup,
we get a steal,
this is surreal,
this is our core group

This poem is about basketball, it says that if you score a basket, maybe you'll wanto celebrate it, but you can't because the game is close and you have to go on full court press, and the whole team is focused, they'll get a steal, because of their excitement, interest in the game, their core group is their team and the team is all really close to each other.

Haiku

The wildlife wakes up,
Youth arrive with faces of joy,
Spring is on its way.

When animals sense the beginning of spring, they wake up after a winter of hibernation, and all the kids start biking, roller blading, walking, going to ice cream stores, playing outside, signaling the start of Spring.

His life was full of bliss,
Until that day,
he ran away

Love

What is love, is it real, do we feel it
Is it amusement, or part of our life
Is it ours to keep, like a banana split
Do we enjoy it, is it having a wife?
Is it family, or lucky underwear
When does it end, or dies it ever stop
Will it make you a multimillionare?
Or owner of a novelty shop?

Love is not a match you play with your friend
Love may be fun, but surely not a game
If not taken seriously, a bitter end
You have your laughs and your bloody shame
It may last a long, or finish up quick
So take it, cherish it, whilst it your trick

Man/Boy

A man
a boy
wisdom
inexperience
confidence
timidness
mighty
feeble
but only at the start...
as the man and the boy
each grow through the years
the man becomes
cautious
flaccid
yet still wise
and confident
the boy transforms into a
hard - working
diligent
experienced
man

Dog Sledding

We reach the Kennel,
It is blistering cold,
but something,
perhaps the dogs,
gives us a feeling of warmth.
our dogs are chosen,
sled packed up,
Ready, Let's Go!
The first 500 meters has a hill,
we run beside,
bringing up our body heat,
we start shedding layers!
But only to put them back on,
ten minutes later.
every stop, i mean every stop
i hear Dugan's bark,
At frist it drives my crazy,
but i soon love it.
We arrive at camp;
hungry, and tired
no food and rest though,
more chores, the dogs come first,
after what seems like hours we feed ourselves,
make the sauna
and close our eyes
the morning awakes
another day in the blistering cold
the tingling, burning pain of cold metal
and Mike
the craziest of them all
